I've heard of risperidone but I don't know if it's prescribed here in the UK, and it's WAY harder to get meds from doctors here anyway. I have rapidly changing mood and racing thoughts which my shrink knows about and I think my doc does too but I've not been diagnosed with bipolar. Hell, the meds I've got now don't even work.

I used to be on melatonin (easiest sleep med to get here but still not over-the-counter) and when I'd go back on it then the first few nights would be vivid lucid dreams, and I think any length of time I was on it would also mean increased dreaming. However I am under a lot of stress and anxiety so I don't know if the antidepressants I'm on right now have any effect...

Oh and I hear tryptophan is very good for LDing and also that it's prescribed for depression sometimes, I think. I dunno, all the meds I get are shit.

...I take this shit. For a reason. Trust me, it doesn't give you 'guaranteed' lucid dreams.

Try a combination of vitamin B1 and B6.

risperdal is an antipsychotic used in treatment for psychosis associated with bipolar disorder (mania or psychotic depression) and schizophrenia. psuedoparkinsonism, akathisia, dystonia, and tardive dyskinesia are among the common side effects. basically those are some scary, usually irreversible movement disorders, and they are so awful and so common. additionally, seizures, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, heart failure, and renal artery occlusion are the deadly side effects.

my point here is please, do not take this medication if you are not prescribed to it. please do not attempt to become prescribed to it for any reason other than its purpose.

medications are so far from being perfect, especially those used for psychiatric disorders. so there are tons of side effects and a lot of them are dangerous. the only reason to take a medication is when the benefits out-weigh the risks.

Sure, take it. You'll die 10-30 years younger than the average life expectancy; your final years will be marked by crippling disease: movement disorders, diabetes, heart failure...

Risperdal doesn't "guarantee" lucid dreams, but they may happen -- along with terrifying sleep paralysis that will make you dread sleeping. Your sleep will be very light, and you'll wake up several times each night, usually paralyzed.

You'll also have dizziness and difficulty breathing when you get up -- from your bed, for example, or from a crouching position --, sleepiness throughout the day, you may start lactating even if you're a boy (because of increased prolactin levels), decreased libido (if you masturbate once a day, you'll masturbate every 3-4 days), erectile dysfunction, a decreased ability to think (you'll have difficulty coming up with stuff to say in a conversation)... It's not a fun drug and it will slowly kill you, literally.

But despite this, take it! It may give you a couple of amusing lucid dreams that you can tell your friends.

I was prescribed this shit. Had extremely vivid and even prophetic dreams almost every day, not sure if it was related to the drug but i'm not having them anymore now that I stopped taking the goddamn thing as prescribed.

Seriously, being bipolar might suck, but having to be an emotionally braindead zombie who is basically retarded sucks harder.

I actually had a psychotic episode and I was prescribed exactly this, and the first night I took it I had an extremely vivid dream of being raped.

Go ahead guys. Lie to your doctor and get this drug prescribed to you. You deserve to have lucid dreams, you deserve to have anything you wish for - it's your birthright.
